Neglect Awareness Workshop

TARGET AUDIENCE

This workshop is a basic minimum for everyone working directly with children, young people and/or their families and who have not previously done any neglect training. This workshop is to support people in identifying neglect at the earliest opportunity.

This course provides awareness raising for all individuals who have face to face contact with children, young people and their families AND people who are working with adults who are also parents, on issues such as domestic abuse, substance misuse and/or emotional health.

Please note: it is not appropriate for you to attend this workshop if you have previously completed any neglect training.

PRE-REQUISITES

None. This is the start of the neglect training pathway.

AIM

All professionals have an awareness of neglect and resources available.

OBJECTIVES

• To keep neglect at the forefront of professionals minds
• Have an understanding of signs and symptoms of a child suffering from neglect
• Have an awareness of the possible impact of neglect
