Awareness of Substance Use in the Family Context

TARGET AUDIENCE

Anyone working with children, young people and families in the statutory or voluntary sectors.

This is an introductory course to give an awareness of substance misuse and to start to consider the impact on the child, of having parents who are substance users.

This workshop will prepare learners for attending the Level 2 Substance Misuse and the Impact on the Child training

(unless learners have previously completed CADES training or equivalent and they are then exempt from doing this)

AIM

  • To provide learners with a basic understanding of drug types, using a simple model
  • To understand what the most commonly used drugs do, physically and mentally
  • To begin to consider the impact on the child of having parents who are substance users

FACILITATORS

Experienced multi-agency pool trainer with expertise in substance misuse

CANCELLATION POLICY

A charge of £100 per person will be made to agencies when learners to do not attend or given less than 7 calendar days’ notice of cancellation.
